1) I thought that my city of furniture was my most successful project out of all of them. For this project we were given the chance to choose a topic of our choice, and then we had to create a city out of it. My topic of choice was furniture. I chose furniture because there are a lot of different types of furniture. Also because it would look cool to make all of them into buildings with windows and all the other features of a building. Not only were we supposed to choose a topic, we were also required to choose a perspective to draw the picture in. I decided to choose two point perspective. After completing this project I felt that I did receive enough instruction on drawing in perspective to insure success. To help with that, I thought it was pretty easy to work with a ruler to make my lines more exact and realistic. The only part of this picture that I would change, would be to make the shading better. This is because it could help the buildings and the objects look more 3D and realistic. Overall, I thought that I did a good job on this project and it turned out well.
2) The project that I thought was the least successful was the hand alligator. I think this because it is not neat at all and also it does not look realistic. I felt that I rushed this project too much because I was not patient enough and I did not take my time to make it neat. Something that I would change about the way I did this project is I would be more patient. If I were more patient when I did this project, it would have been more neat which would have made it better. Also, I should have shaded better to make the picture look more 3-D. If I shaded better and was more patient and took my time on this project, it would have been better as a whole. Overall, this project could definitely been done better.
3) These two projects really show the growth in me as an artist. The picture of the alligator is one that I did in the beginning and the city of furniture is one I did toward the end. One of the really big changes that happened is that you can see that I went from rushing and not being neat (as you can see in the picture of the alligator), to neat and more realistic (as you can see in the city of furniture). Also, for the alligator, you can see that there really is not any shading going on to make it look more 3-D compared to the city of furniture picture where there is a lot more shading and neatness when you compare the two. Another example of growth between the two is how I payed more attention to detail in the city rather than how I barely did when I drew the alligator. Both of these pictures were colored with colored pencils and first drawn with regular pencils so you can just see that I have grown quite a bit. Now looking back at my growth through these two pictures, I learned that no matter the subject or the topic, I learned that you just have to be patient, take your time, and pay attention to the small details to make good art.
4) This piece of artwork that I found on google has a big personal connection to me. It is a painting of people play baseball. The reason that I have a personal connection to this painting is because I play baseball. Baseball is my favorite sport and I play it almost all year long, except for winter season. I play for the high school during the spring and summer season, and I play on a travel team during the summer and the fall season. Also, this painting reflects me as an artist. This is because my favorite type of art is paint and this piece of art is a painting. Overall, I like this painting a lot and it also has a lot in common with me.
5) My favorite medium that we worked with the semester in art was paint. I liked how if you mess up when your using paint, you can just paint over it and start again. When we used paint at the end, It took me a whole class period to paint some clouds because I wanted them to look good, so when I messed up I painted back over it and tried again. Paint is very helpful in that sense. Another reason that I thought paint was the best was because in my opinion, it is the most fun to work with. Especially how when we painted in class, we were only given five different colors. Those were red, yellow, blue, black, and white. We had to mix the colors to get different ones if we wanted to used different ones. That also gave me more knowledge in what colors mix together to make the other ones. Also, faint was fun to use because you had to use different techniques at different times to do certain things. Overall, I enjoyed using paint the most out of all the other mediums we used. The painting below was the one that I did in class.
